Literacy Project-Swarnakana inter-school merit test,2016
Literacy Project(Swarnakana inter-school merit test on 11th December, 2016 at Madhyamgram High school) This inter-school merit test has been organised by Rotary Club of Madhyamgram Metropolitan since the formation of the club in 2005. Later on it was named on 2009 as ‘Swarnakana inter-school merit test’ in memory of our very near & dear Rotary Ann Late Kana Bose in recognition of her affection & concern for the children and their education. This merit test has become very popular among the students, guardians and educationists not only of this area but also in the surrounding districts due to it’s standard, pragmatic syllabus, coverage and recognition of merit. It has been proved to be helpful for the students for preparing themselves for higher studies & crack competitive examinations. So far this test was being conducted among the students of class-IX, X, XI, & XII. This year we have introduced test of mathematics among the students of class-V, VI, VII & VIII to make them grow more interest on the subject which will help them a lot in their further studies. . Total 635 students were enrolled and 518 students from 41 schools of Madhyamgram, Duttapukur , New Barrackpore, Khannan were participated this year. Prizes and certificates will be distributed on 4th February at Najrul Mancha, Madhyamgram along with a cultural programme in the evening. School having maximum number of participants and school having maximum number of successful students in this test will also get award on that day.
